Questions & answers

#Can we start with a focused review instead of a full RFP?

Yes. Establish the commercial problem, current obligations, available data and decision scope. A targeted agreement review, selected-lane bid or direct renegotiation may answer a narrower need. A broader RFP is appropriate when the network or program requires it. CPC can help scope the engagement rather than assume every company needs the same event.

#Which departments should join a freight sourcing project?

Include the teams that control requirements, cost and execution: purchasing, logistics, operations, production, receiving, customer service and finance as relevant. Legal, quality, safety or other specialists may be needed for the scope. Agree requirements and measurement before the award so one department’s local improvement does not create another’s added cost.
